I love telling stories and think maybe this might be something that I will incorporate into all my postings from now on. I come from a long line of "tale swappers". I enjoyed listening outside on the porch while my elders told tall tales about everything! I am going to be using these stories with my complete project. I want to make a fiber box to store them all in and have the printed stories in a folder with them. dotflyingbeaderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14552477017906406473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7160421461079825663.post-24479383740336392812010-04-15T14:19:47.927-04:002010-04-15T14:19:47.927-04:00Oh Dot! You could print them on archival paper (or, maybe better, you could use silk fabric from JoAnne's which you can run through your ink jet printer)and store them in the jars. This is a stretch for you, Dot... telling these memories is different than making beanie babies, huh?! I'm sooooooooo proud of you! You never know what might happen to you or it and it's eventual owner would want to know all of that.

I love that the peacock pins were used to hold down the curled collar of your dress...

P.S. You're still young -- you may find your way back to the accordion one day...who knows...Susan Elliotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18094024834053351944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7160421461079825663.post-79828779436943468022010-04-13T14:28:44.543-04:002010-04-13T14:28:44.543-04:00OMG, Dot, I took accordion lessons too but I was 6...OMG, Dot, I took accordion lessons too but I was 6 years old. We lived in Denver and my father loved Lawrence Welk as well. They had a parade in downtown Denver where there was an accordion band that played as they walked down the street and my father wanted me to be in that band.

Well, I did not like my lessons, the accordion was too heavy for 6 year old me and used to cry and cry not to go to the lessons. I was sent to my room to practice and I cried instead. Needless to say, i disappointed my father, and lessons were stopped and the rented accordion went back. But, I was happier.

I love your stories. They always trigger some of my long buried memories.Pam Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15085359481285463553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7160421461079825663.post-34405165825486197562010-04-13T13:27:53.436-04:002010-04-13T13:27:53.436-04:00What a wonderful story, Dot.
